The Vikings

The Vikings

Vikings came from Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden and Norway).

The word Viking means ‘to raid’ in Old Norse.

Vikings were farmers by trade, however they are best known for sailing across the sea and raiding and looting other countries. They also created settlements in these countries such as Finland, Germany, Britain and Scotland. They even made it to North America (Canada), but only briefly settled there.
